As a volunteer for MAIN you will benefit from working for one of the leading providers of support for children and adults in the north east region.
There are many different roles within the charity and a wide range of different activities where you can get involved. Your hours as a volunteer can be arranged to fit in with your way of life. In most cases no previous experience is required. In return we can offer a comprehensive package of training and will fund your DBS check.

Volunteers are needed to work alongside other members of staff in our social groups with a variety of ages in different settings providing additional staffing support. Groups normally operate weekday evenings and weekends.
To work alongside other members of staff Personal Assistant (PA) service allows our service users to access community facilities in order for them to achieve their social care outcomes. These sessions can be any time of day, seven days per week.
A volunteer driver to drive our 17-seater minibus. Previous driving experience preferred. Working mainly between the hours of 9.00 am – 9.00 pm, 7 days per week. The role will involve driving our service users to various locations in the north east region. Our minibus will always have a passenger assistant on board.
A volunteer administrator is needed to assist in our admin team with a range of administration duties associated with the day-to- day operation of a medium sized charity including reception, telephone and filing. On the job training will be provided.
To assist in our highly successful Come Dine with MAIN group which runs on Tuesday evenings from 6pm – 9pm at our premises at Riverside Park Middlesbrough. Relevant qualifications will be provided. An interest in cooking and dining is essential.
A volunteer to market MAIN’s services and to raise the profile of the charity in the local and wider community, in particular advertising training. The person will establish links with larger businesses who are in a position to provide additional corporate funding, who have a corporate and social responsibility, to seek out future funders and to arrange fundraising events in liaison with the management team and the Volunteer Events Co-ordinator.
To assist in developing MAIN’s fundraising activities. The role will involve actively seeking local businesses to donate prizes for fundraising events. Booking and promoting events and fundraisers and working closely with the Marketing Volunteer.
