Accessibility

Accessibility statement

MAIN is committed to providing a website that is accessible to the widest possible audience, regardless of technology or ability.

We are actively working to increase the accessibility and usability of our website and in doing so adhere to many of the available standards and guidelines.

Guidelines and standards

This website endeavours to conform to level Double-A of the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.0.

The design and coding of our webpage templates have undergone an accessibility audit that helps ensure that our website conforms to the WCAG 2.0 AA standard.

These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible for people with disabilities. Conformance with these guidelines will help make the web more user friendly for all people.

Coding standards

This site has been built using code compliant with W3C standards for HTML5 and CSS3.

The site displays correctly in current browsers, degrades gracefully in older browsers, and is optimised to elegantly resize to suit various browser windows, on PCs, tablets and mobile phones.

By using standards compliant HTML/CSS code means any future browsers will also display it correctly.

Accessibility features

We offer the following features:

  • Multiple colour scheme options, such as inverse and high contrast.
  • A Google Translation tool, to toggle all language on the site.
  • Multiple ways of navigating pages, including call-to-action buttons, a clear navigation bar and a search facility
  • Resizable text

Contacting us about an accessibility issue

We are continually seeking out solutions that will bring all areas of the site up to the same level of overall web accessibility. In the meantime should you experience any difficulty in accessing our website, please don’t hesitate to contact us.

An Update

Due to the Prime Minister’s announcement yesterday we have made the decision to close our clubs until further notice.

Some of our PA services will continue.

All our staff will be working from home.  We will still be contactable during our usual working hours on our landline number 01642 608012; our PA phone 077967 69272 or Serviceteam@iammain.org.uk

and for Middlesbrough and Redcar & Cleveland SENDIASS Service: 07939152653 or apinkney@iammain.org.uk .  We will also be accessing our emails as usual.

We appreciate this will cause a huge amount of distress to some of our families.  If you need our support please get in touch.
